I’ve sort of lost interest. I’m not sure why, I think it’s that I don’t buy the Doctor’s purported age relative to the new, young actor. Tennant’s performance was timeless.
Two reasons to keep watching:
- Karen Gillan. Knowing you, Ben, that’s not a very strong reason, so…
- The new writer and exec. producer, I feel, has refined the show in just the right way. Doctor Who, as a sci-fi, never took itself too seriously, which is one of the reasons it’s so good. But in the newest series I feel like they’ve really found the right harmony; the show is light and serious at the same time, but in a way that doesn’t detract from either aspect.
